Marissa is a 14 year old girl who makes lots of laughs on stage. She has performed in her elementary and middle school drama club. Her biggest role was Skylights in Peter Pan in elementary school.

What are Some of Your Previous Roles You've Played?
Some people are fine with not getting the lead because every part is important to the story. "I've played Skylights in Peter Pan Jr., a Band Person in The Music Man Jr., a Dog Catcher in Annie Jr., Bop in Peter Pan Jr., and a Lady with a Baby in Beauty and the Beast Jr."
What is the Hardest Part About Bringing the Script to Life?
In some people's minds, the hardest part is truly connecting with the character you play. "The hardest part for me is memorizing the lines and playing the part right."
What is the Biggest Challenge When You're on Stage?
Challenges are things to learn to overcome when acting. "A challenge for me is to not laugh all the time."
What Type of Future do you Want in Acting?
People mostly want main roles on Broadway or in Movies!! "I don’t want a future in acting. I like to do it for fun and when I’m older I want to be a teacher and maybe direct the play for the school."
What was Your Inspiration for Becoming an Actress?
Friends and family can push you to become an actress. "I like to be on stage and my friends were doing it so I thought it was a good idea."
What is Your Favorite Musical?
In m opinion, Wicked and Hamilton are great plays. "I enjoyed High School Musical."
Do you Have any Backstage Rituals Before Going on Stage?
An example of a backstage ritual is taking a deep breath before going on. "I talk and try to get all my jitters out so I don’t start laughing hysterically on stage and embarrass myself."
Is There Anything you Want to Improve on?
Having a better understanding of your character is a big one in order the play the part right. "Something that I would like to improve on is when I have a line I’m not so awkward and embarrassed to say it."
What are Some Things you Like and Dislike When Being on Stage?
There are many things to like and not so many things to dislike because you have your friends but might be nervous. "I like that one of my props was a baby doll and I dislike the costume I had to wear for the role."
What are Some Extracurricular Activities That you do?
Sports and music help build confidence to go on stage. "I do tennis and track."
Have you Learned any Lessons While Being an Actress?
Lessons can be learned anywhere but for an actress, most lessons are learned on stage. "I learned that it’s okay to embrace your true personality on stage."
